Sugar-Free Diet
Still on the wagon, but beginning to contemplate the edibility factor of things like flavored lip gloss and Yankee Candles.

Mood
Improving. Might be the snow, and the fact that I’m not out driving in it, but curled up all cozy under Willie Ford with a nice, hot cup of tea, watching it fall.

  1. OOh dear. At least you have Willie Ford (a post I’ll never forget!) The sugar craving will pass, you just have to get through it – which it sounds like you are. And sooner or later Caleb will get it and you’ll even the score. Hang in there.

  2. Sounds like potty training may be a little frustrating. I was very frustrated as well with potty training. When I was researching potty training a common theme seemed to be praise and positive reinforcement. I came across a website called http://www.pottytrainingrewards.com. We hung it in the kitchen and named the little boy on the front of the package, Bobby. My son could not wait to go to the potty so he could push the button, hear the praising message, and get his chocolate reward from, Bobby. It really got my son excited about using the potty himself and it was fun for him. Because he became so involved, potty training was easy. So give it a try.

  3. Having an identity empowers one to comment (at least for me) – how odd. Anway, I’m glad you shared your bad day, so your loyal readers could empathize with you. I hope the potty training gets better. As someone who had to drive this morning, let me tell you it was really not fun. As for your sugar free diet, way to go!!! Ryan is going strong following his brief hiatus for Christmas and is carb-free. I of course am a terrible influence, but I HAVE to eat whatever I want to for Kerensa, right? She is 7 mos today. Whoohoo!!

  4. “Caleb: 4” Four what?? Has he hidden poop four times??

Just read your Willie Ford post, how awesome šŸ™‚

Have I told you lately how much I love your blog?

  5. Hang in there girlfriend! Caleb will eventually give in and learn what it means to be a ‘big boy’ šŸ™‚ Until then, if you really need the sugar, pop a tootsie roll or something small into your mouth and savor it! If you give yourself a small treat every now & then, then it makes staying on the wagon so much easier. And, the temptations to splurge will be less too šŸ™‚ Something I’ve learned from Weight Watchers!

  6. What did I miss? No sugar? Are you INSANE? Unless you are diabetic I cannot recommend this! I tried Atkins over the summer and by day three I was ready to vomit – day four had me in shakedown mode. I had to cave, it was literally making me sick.

I know it is easier to do Cold Turkey than Moderation sometimes but jeeze louise.

    Take care of yourself.

  7. Thank you to all you wonderful cheerleaders! (I really need it sometimes!)

M–I’m glad you stopped by, and I thought your comment was so poignant and exactly the way I feel myself sometimes. And thank you for the sweet compliment! I hope you’ll come back and leave more of your footsteps here. šŸ™‚

Karen–Thanks for the website! I’ll definitely take a look!

    Q. Bee–Wow, my warm fuzzy for the day! And yes, 4 stands for four horrible, reeking violations of my personal standard for olfactory and hygienic comfort.

Karyn–Haha! That’s pretty much the way I felt when I first looked at this eating plan, but the sugar cravings are actually abating now. Who would have thought?

  8. Oh my gosh, some of those Yankee Candles should come with warning stickers! I always smell some of them — like buttercream cookies or caramel something or cake something — but I don’t ever buy them for fear that I’ll have to rush out and buy whatever my apartment begins to smell like because the scent brings with it a craving.

The honeysuckle one is awesome. And it doesn’t make me hungry. šŸ™‚
