Night Snow

Standard

swirling, singing bits of lace
snowflakes perform
their whirling dance

meeting together
in frozen embrace

falling through the charcoal sky,

swept in passioned minuet
before the heedless wind–

white waltzers
in night’s ballroom

  1. Wow! I really really love this poem.

It’s so fitting, as it’s beginning to snow again here. This is the most snow EVER for Vancouver in November. We’re breaking all kinds of snow and temperature records! Woohoo! Bring it on!

Gosh. I REALLY love the poem. I know I already said that. It needed to be reiterated. 🙂

  2. oh how i miss winter and Christmas time together. it’s not quite the same singing, walking in a winter wonderland, as you sit in shorts sweating in the heat 🙂 enjoy the snow for us!

  3. pretty pretty!!!

And I noticed that you are back to your old site design – did the spring flowers just not work with the snow falling outdoors?

  4. Yep, Courtney–I decided when the thermostat reached seven degrees today that spring was officially over! Maybe I’ll work out something in blues and white to match the wintry landscape outside!
